Position Summary

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides services under the general supervision of the Physical Therapist, including patient assessment, treatment, home programs, instruction, and documentation, adhering to state practice guidelines and departmental standards. Responsible for direct patient care for adult and geriatric patients, ensuring quality and compliance with all regulations.

Qualifications Required
  • Successful completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program
  • Valid Physical Therapist Assistant License in the appropriate state(s)
  • Effective communication skills
  • Leadership and customer service skills
  • Mature judgment and problem-solving ability
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Provide therapeutic treatment per care plan
  • Document treatment and patient responses accurately
  • Maintain therapy records and ensure availability of supplies
  • Manage patient schedules and billing documentation
  • Participate in meetings and training programs
  • Initiate new programs to improve residents' quality of life
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Perform patient lifting using biomechanical techniques, capable of lifting 50 pounds
  • Maintain consistent walking, bending, standing, and reaching during shifts
