Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent or post-high school diploma.
• Three (3) month phlebotomy certificate program.
• In lieu of education and experience requirements, previous phlebotomy experience or training in formal programs may be considered.
• PBT(ASCP) or RPT(AMT) or CPT(ASPT) or other listed phlebotomy certifications are acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Collect specimens from patients and ensure safety and comfort.
• Verify patient and specimen identification; label specimens correctly.
• Input and assess information in hospital systems; review workload reports.
• Perform POC testing and sample processing when assigned.
• Restock supplies and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Communicate with patients and coordinate collections with staff.
