Job summary

The University of Iowa Community Clinics seeks a 100% time Sonographer to perform complex ultrasound procedures including Echo for pediatric patients and some adults. The role primarily supports the Urbandale Clinic with potential outreach to Pediatrics and Specialty clinics.

Benefits include a full benefit package, with retirement and paid leave. Schedule is 40 hours/week; location is Urbandale, IA with Johnston site options.

Qualifications

• CAAHEP accredited or equivalent program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography or Vascular Technology.
• Two-year or more accredited health science program plus 12-month formal education in Sonography.
• Bachelor’s degree plus 12-month formal education in Sonography.
• Registration with ARDMS is not required at application.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex diagnostic ultrasonography procedures including imaging and Doppler.
• Consult with the interpreting physician regarding ultrasound findings.
• Document exam information as required by departmental standards.
• Evaluate images for diagnostic quality.
• Instruct sonography students and medical residents on equipment operation.
