Job summary

OU Health’s Children's Sooner Pediatric Clinic in Oklahoma City is hiring a Certified Medical Assistant I for full-time day shifts. You will work with physicians and APPs to provide direct patient care in an ambulatory setting, handling clinical and administrative duties while helping patients understand provider instructions.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, completing an accredited MA program, and 0–3 years of patient care experience with BLS certification; multiple MA

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; accredited MA program preferred.
• 0–3 years of patient care experience as a Medical Assistant or similar role preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire; multiple MA certifications listed to be obtained upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care by taking vitals, patient history, venipuncture, lab, x-ray, referrals, and patient messages.
• Adheres to safety goals and contributes to patient assessment and monitoring.
• Manages high call volume with professional telephone etiquette.
• Maintains workflow to meet patient needs and assists with procedures; maintains sterile fields.
• Transmits prescription refills and arranges hospital admissions and related services.
