Four 10-hour shifts per week, no weekends, with a clear career ladder from Nursing Assistant to Lead Patient Care Technician. Entry level hourly rate starts at $19.40, with growth based on qualifications and advancement.

Qualifications

• Experience as Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician preferred.
• Ability to follow established policies and procedures.
• Good communication and teamwork with nursing staff.

Responsibilities

• Deliver routine patient care and support services.
• Assist with ADLs and activities of daily living.
• Take vital signs, perform simple dressings and EKGs.
• Report equipment malfunctions and communicate with the healthcare team.
• Maintain patient safety and professionalism at all times.

Full-Time Patient Care Technician - GI Lab (UPMC Presbyterian)

UPMC Presbyterian, a Magnet designated hospital, is currently hiring a full-time Patient Care Technician to support our GI Lab!

Schedule

Four 10-hour shifts per week, no weekends, 6:30am-5pm or 7am-5:30pm

Responsibilities:

• Deliver routine patient care and support services, following established policies and procedures
• Under the direction of nurses and/or physicians, ensure high-quality patient care is maintained at all times
• Assist with ADLs (bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, ambulating, turning, repositioning, and blood glucose monitoring)
• Take vital signs, perform simple dressings, 12-lead EKGs, bladder scans, and collect specimens
• Report equipment malfunctions and communicate effectively with the healthcare team
• Ensure patient and workplace safety, demonstrate professionalism, and maintain productive relationships
• Provide patient care, support therapies, and assist with instruction under RN guidance
• Adhere to all policies, safety standards, and document patient information appropriately
• Complete tasks in a timely manner, including clerical functions as needed
