Job summary

Prosser Memorial Health seeks a frontline Admissions Clerk to interview incoming patients or representatives and capture information for upcoming appointments. You will explain hospital policies, discuss charges, and verify patient insurance or payor source while guiding patients through the process.

You will escort patients or arrange escorts to assigned rooms, with on-the-job training provided. A high school diploma or GED is required, and 2–3 years of medical office experience is preferred;

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2-3 years medical general office experience preferred.
• On-the-job training or formal education from 6 months to one year.
• Bilingual strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews incoming patient or representative and enters information required for upcoming appointment.
• Explains hospital regulations, such as payment of accounts, and schedule of charges, rights and responsibilities, HIPAA regulations.
• Confirms and verifies patient insurance and or payor source.
• Escorts patient or arranges for escort to assigned room.
