Job summary

AMR is hiring Paramedics for a full-time position in Abilene, Texas. We deliver compassionate, high-quality patient care and operate with progressive Paramedic protocols.

Responsibilities include assessing calls, using defibrillator and monitoring equipment, communicating with patients and families, leading scenes when needed, driving the ambulance, and collaborating with health and public safety teams to serve the community. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered for full-time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• State Paramedic License.
• State Driver’s License.
• BLS, ACLS, NREMT-Paramedic.
• Driving record compliant with company policy.
• Pass Physical Agility Test.
• Some work experience, preferably healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Assess each call and determine best action with Paramedic protocols.
• Use defibrillator, EKG monitor, oxygen and suction to provide advanced care.
• Communicate with patients and families to provide information and reassurance.
• Act as Paramedic team leader and manage scene and unit as needed.
• Drive the ambulance on 911 responses.
• Collaborate with allied health and public safety personnel.
• Participate in community programs to maintain AMR image.
