The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs seeks a Physician Assistant for the Thoracic Surgery and Pulmonary Transplant service at a VA facility in Madison, Wisconsin.

The PA provides comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, education and medication management for surgical and non-surgical pathways, with both inpatient and outpatient responsibilities. The role emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention and coordination across surgery, medicine, nursing, and other services.

Formación

• Education or degrees recognized by the U.S. Department of Education are required for federal employment.
• If foreign education is used, a Certificate of Foreign Equivalency must be submitted with the transcript.

Responsabilidades

• Provides comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, education and medication management for patients in both surgical and non-surgical pathways.
• Independently manages a panel of patients with acute and chronic health conditions with emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention.
• Develops and implements an individualized plan to achieve optimal population health and disease management.
• Orders and interprets labs, tests, and diagnostic studies.
• Prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions.
• Initiates referrals and consults to specialty services.
• Work Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-4 PM.
