Job summary

Planet Fitness - Cambridge Fitness in Lansing, MI is seeking a dedicated custodian to maintain cleanliness and safety across restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the gym floor.

The role requires reliability for the overnight shift M-F 10pm-6am, ability to work independently, and a basic HS diploma or GED. Previous custodial experience is a plus, but a strong work ethic matters most.

• Ability to solve problems autonomously without direct supervision.
• High School diploma or GED; must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the gym floor.
• Keep locker rooms fully supplied with necessary paper products and amenities.
• Inspect the facility and report broken or missing equipment to the Club Manager.
• Follow Lost and Found Policy and return misplaced member property promptly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain Excellence: Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the gym floor to ensure a premium member experience.
• Stay Stocked: Keep locker rooms fully supplied with all necessary paper products and amenities.
• Eye for Detail: Inspect the facility and promptly report any broken or missing equipment (faucets, showers, gym gear) to the Club Manager.
• Member Care: Follow our "Lost and Found Policy," safely turning in any misplaced member property immediately.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: Prior custodial or cleaning experience is a plus, but a great attitude and strong work ethic are what matter most!
• Reliability: Punctuality and absolute reliability for the M-F 10pm-6am third shift are a must. Must be be able to work alone if needed.
• Independence: Ability to solve problems autonomously and work efficiently without direct supervision.
• Professionalism: High School diploma/GED equivalent; must be 18 years of age or older.

Physical Demands

• Continual standing, walking, reaching, and moving during the shift.
• Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, and crouching.
• Ability to occasionally lift over 50 pounds and safely handle standard cleaning chemicals.
