Job summary

North American Dental Group's Precision Orthodontics in Toledo, OH, seeks an Ortho Assistant to provide chair-side support, prepare patients for treatment, and assist the Orthodontist with materials and equipment.

The ideal candidate will have 1–5 years’ experience (new grads welcome), a radiography/X-ray certification as required by state, CPR certification, and proficiency with MS Office. Orthodontic settings require strict infection control and patient education focus.

Qualifications

• Dental or Ortho Assisting Certification or prior on-the-job training.
• 1-5 years of experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
• Radiography/X-Ray certification (state-specific).
• Current CPR certification.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• A commitment to delivering exceptional service and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent chair-side clinical support and assistance to doctors, including charting, operatory setup/cleanup, and patient education.
• Records and reviews patient health history, makes chart entries under the doctor's direction and ensures forms and signatures are complete.
• Enters and updates patient treatment plans as directed by the treating doctor.
• Ability to change and remove wires, brackets, and adhesive, take impressions, scans, and prepare teeth for bonding.
• Prepares treatment estimates for review with patients.
• Reviews daily schedule to set up trays and instruments.
• Prepares and sterilizes instruments, maintains asepsis, and assists dentist during procedures following OSHA guidelines.
