Job summary

VCA Parkway Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Groomer to join our busy two-doctor practice and expand grooming services for dogs and cats. You will work with an established clientele and provide the highest quality care with a focus on client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has excellent animal handling and grooming skills, with certification preferred. Compensation is hourly base pay plus commission, and shifts vary with a rotating or weekly schedule.

Qualifications

• Excellent animal handling and client service skills are required.
• Strong knowledge in grooming techniques for all breeds of dogs and cats.
• Grooming school classes and/or grooming certificate preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide grooming services for dogs and cats using appropriate techniques (hair cuts, bathing, dematting, clipping, nail trimming, ear cleaning, gland expression, brushing and drying).
• Maintain your grooming space and keep it clean and organized.
• Demonstrate dependability and flexible scheduling with rotating or weekly shifts.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Groomer to join our team and help us expand our grooming services. VCA Parkway Animal Hospital is a busy two doctor practice with a variety of services offered, including grooming. This is an outstanding opportunity for a highly motivated Groomer to capitalize on our established clientele.

The successful candidate for this position will share our love of our patients and our loyal clientele while we provide the highest quality care to their pets. We are looking for someone who is invested in the long-term success of their career at our hospital as a member of our team.

Excellent animal handling and client service skills are required, along with strong knowledge in the grooming techniques of all breeds of dogs and cats.

The Groomer provides general grooming services to our patients of all breeds using appropriate grooming techniques such as; hair cuts, bathing, dematting, clipping, nail trimming, ear cleaning, external gland expression, brushing and drying. The Groomer is responsible for their own space and housekeeping of that space.

Grooming school classes and/or grooming certificate preferred.

Compensation is hourly base pay plus commission.

Shifts days and times are variable and can be on a set rotation or weekly schedule.

Dependable attendance is required.

Pay Range: Compensation negotiable based on experience and credentials. Starting at $16.00/hour
