Job summary

Eye MDs of Puget Sound in Tacoma, WA seeks a full-time Optometrist to join a physician-owned practice with a modern, multi-office setup. You will perform comprehensive eye exams, refractions, and contact lens fittings for patients 16 and older, collaborating with Ophthalmologists in a busy, well-equipped clinic.

This role offers a base salary of $125,000 per year, with a percentage of collections, CME allowance, relocation stipend, and a supportive team across Tacoma and Olympia.

Qualifications

• OD degree and Washington licensure or eligibility.
• Strong skills in comprehensive eye exams, refraction, and contact lens fitting.
• Proficiency with EHR and diagnostic technologies (autorefractors, OCT, VF, fundus imaging).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with commitment to patient education and respectful care.
• Reliability and judgment to manage a steady patient schedule with accuracy.
• Willingness to pursue continuing education and best practices in optometric care.
• New graduates encouraged; prior medical/surgical eye care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive eye examinations and refractions for patients 16+.
• Diagnose and manage common ocular conditions; co-manage with Ophthalmologists.
• Document findings in EHR and coordinate care with clinicians.
• Educate patients on treatment options, prevention, and use of corrective lenses.
• Participate in follow-up care and occasional urgent visits; after-hours on-call rotation.
