The Oklahoma City VA Healthcare System (OCVAHCS) is actively recruiting a board-certified, board-eligible full-time permanent hospital employed Optometrist to join our established practice.

The optometrist provides diagnosis, treatment, and management of diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and other eye diseases; provision of refractions for eyeglass prescriptions, eyeglasses, medically necessary contact lenses, as well as low-vision and brain injury vision rehabilitation

Qualificações

• Doctor of Optometry from a credentialed institution.
• Must have passed all optometric state boards
• Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice optometry in the U.S.
• U.S. Citizens receive preference; non-U.S. Citizens may be considered.

Responsabilidades

• Provide diagnosis, treatment, and management of diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, macular degeneration and other eye diseases.
• Provide refractions for eyeglasses, eyeglasses, medically necessary contact lenses, and low-vision/brain injury vision rehabilitation services.
• Support day-to-day activities of the Eye Clinic.
• Conduct primary ocular health examinations including dilated eye exams for diabetic eye care, glaucoma, macular degeneration and related conditions.
• Maintain accurate progress notes in the patient’s electronic record.
• Use proper reprocessing and maintenance of reusable medical equipment.
• Assist in orientation of new staff and participate in teaching medical students.
• Other duties as assigned.
