Job summary

Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA seeks full-time Flex Houseparents who are married couples. You will reside in on-campus student homes, supervise 8-13 students, and foster a structured, family-like environment to support academic, emotional, and social growth.

The role features a nine-on, three-off schedule, duties including supervising, planning activities, safeguarding student wellbeing, and transitioning to a placed houseparent.

Qualifications

• Two-person role for couples married at least two years.
• Both spouses must be age 27 or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to certify to drive student home vans.
• Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
• Experience working or volunteering with youth.
• No more than three dependent children may reside in the student home.
• Commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus; no alcohol on duty.
• Pet limitations: only fish and one dog of approved breeds allowed.
• Comfort leading students in daily devotions and Sunday Chapel services.

Responsibilities

• Providing daily supervision and mentorship.
• Managing household routines and student schedules.
• Administering medications and ensuring student wellness.
• Driving students to activities and planning developmental/recreational activities.
• Leading daily devotions and accompanying students to Sunday Chapel.
• Overseeing budgeting and household reporting.
