Job summary

Charlotte Bay Rehabilitation and Care Center in Charlotte, FL, is seeking a compassionate Occupational Therapist (OT) to join our rehabilitation team. This full-time position offers an opportunity to help residents regain independence and improve quality of life through individualized therapy plans.

The OT will evaluate residents, develop treatment plans, and provide interventions to enhance daily living activities, mobility, and coordination.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
• Current and valid Florida Occupational Therapist license.
• Strong communication, organization, and clinical skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary rehabilitation team.
• Experience in a skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or healthcare setting is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents and develop individualized occupational therapy treatment plans based on their needs and goals.
• Provide occupational therapy interventions designed to improve functional abilities, mobility, coordination, and independence with activities of daily living.
• Help residents regain or maintain independence with dressing, bathing, grooming, feeding, transfers, and other daily activities.
• Monitor and document resident progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with nursing, physicians, physical therapists, speech therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
• Educate residents, families, and caregivers regarding therapy goals, progress, and strategies to support continued improvement.
• Participate in care planning and interdisciplinary meetings as needed.
• Maintain compliance with applicable federal, state, and facility regulations and professional standards.
