Overview

The program is seeking a qualified professional with expertise in medical-surgical nursing. Additional experience in pediatric nursing is preferred. This position is in the full-time faculty bargaining unit, represented by the American Federation of Teachers (AFT), Maryland.

Responsibilities

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include both classroom (online and face-to-face) and clinical teaching, engaging in department and college-wide service activities, and academic advising. Classroom content includes responsibility for nursing concepts related to each of the above specialty areas and will be assigned according to area of professional expertise. Clinical responsibilities include direct supervision of students in a variety of settings.

Physical requirements

• Work for 8-12 hours performing physical tasks requiring physical energy without jeopardy to client and student safety. Strenuous physical activities include but are not limited to pushing, pulling, stooping, walking, and carrying more than 50 pounds.
• Performing fine movements and being able to manipulate instruments and equipment.
• Having auditory ability sufficient to monitor and assess health needs of clients.
• Having visual ability sufficient for observation and assessment necessary for client care.
