Schedule:

Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
Performs nuclear medicine procedures for referring physicians of a quality that aids in the diagnosis of
the patient.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Perform nuclear medicine examinations on patients of all ages including the administration of
    radiopharmaceuticals and contrast material as assigned in accordance with established guidelines
    in a manner that ensures an accurate and complete examination and treatment providing the
    highest patient care.
  2. Always verify patient with exam order and study to be performed prior to placing patient on the
    scanning table.
  3. Organize and document all aspects of assigned patient care in coordination with the referring
    physician(s) and the radiologist to ensure accurate and timely performance of procedures.
  4. Knowledge of scheduling procedures for CT and nuclear medicine, including PET scans.
  5. Maintenance and organization of patient film file records in our EMR and on site as needed.
  6. Handling patient priors as needed.
  7. Checking and verifying exam with EMR order vs Rx
  8. Verifying images, notes, authorization number if pertinent to patient exams.
  9. Verifying Physician study routing preferences.
  10. Scan in patient paperwork and verify exams in PACS with all necessary information for Radiologist
    to read exam.
  11. Maintains continuing education as required to ensure NMTCB certification.
  12. Maintain clean and stocked work area.
  13. Maintain HIPAA practices and HIPAA training.
  14. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

Education and Certifications/License:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field.
  • Current certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or equivalent(required).
  • New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Radiologic Technologists license(required).
  • BLS Certification(required).
