Job description

USD 35.00 | Indianapolis, IN 46201 Full Time, Non Exempt, "Hourly"

We are seeking skilled Service Technicians and Inspectors to join our team. In this role you will need to be familiar with inspecting, testing, servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing fire alarm and sprinkler systems.

Pay Range: $25.00 - $35.00/HR

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Inspectors shall perform all inspection, testing and some repair tasks on fire alarm or security systems.
  • Service technicians shall respond to scheduled and emergency service requests and perform in-depth trouble shooting, repair and/or replacement of system equipment.
  • Fire Extinguisher and Kitchen Hood Service Technicians are also desired.
  • Service Technicians will have the ability to program fire alarm systems or have experience with programming low voltage systems including fire alarm, nurse call, access control, security or CCTV.
  • Frequently resolve problems through research of multiple alternatives.
  • Communicate and effectively interact with other contractors and building owners.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Assist customers on site with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Effectively communicate project status to management.
  • Complete all appropriate company paperwork as required.
  • Industry related NICET and/or state certification is preferred or obtain within one year of hire.
  • Experience with the following manufacturers: Edwards/EST, Kidde, Notifier, FireLite, Bosch, Silent Knight, DSC, Telguard, and Gamewell/FCI is preferred.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Applicants must meet requirements in relation to background and driving record.
  • Must be proficient in the use and application of industry related equipment including MS Office.
  • Must have excellent communication skills, using tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers.
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing a ladder, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools as required and lifting to 75lbs.
