USD 40.00 - 48.00 | Arlington, TX 76006 Full Time, Non Exempt, "Hourly"

We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Fire Alarm Technician and System Programmer to join our team at Control Systems, Inc. (CSI). This key role requires a deep understanding of fire alarm systems, low voltage panels, and associated devices, along with exceptional programming and troubleshooting skills. As a Senior Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for installing, programming, and commissioning fire alarm and low voltage systems in medium to large commercial buildings. You will also have the opportunity to mentor and provide guidance to other team members, ensuring high-quality customer support and efficient task execution.

PAY RANGE: $40.00-$48.00/ HR

Responsibilities:
  1. Perform installations, troubleshooting, and maintenance of low voltage panels, wiring, and associated devices, with a strong focus on fire alarm systems.
  2. Utilize your expertise to proctor, coach, and teach other team members, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment.
  3. Deliver reliable and top-notch customer support, offering clear instructions on system operation and functionality.
  4. Conduct thorough system testing and signal verification to ensure optimal performance and compliance.
  5. Maintain a well-organized inventory of equipment, tools, and necessary resources in the company vehicle.
  6. Make effective use of technical resources, information, and support to efficiently complete assigned tasks.
  7. Ensure tasks are progressed and completed within defined timelines, meeting or exceeding project expectations.
  8. Create detailed documentation of services performed, hours worked, and task-related activities.
  9. Demonstrate a strong work ethic, meticulous attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving skills.
  10. Lead by example with excellent communication, both written and verbal, when collaborating with team members and customers.
  11. Act as a point of reference for complex field situations, identifying and implementing effective resolutions.
  12. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, providing guidance to ensure successful outcomes.
  13. Collaborate with team members, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
  14. Complete additional projects and assignments as directed by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
  1. High School Diploma/Vocational Training.
  2. A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in fire alarm systems and low voltage installations.
  3. Mastery knowledge of enterprise intrusion systems, fire systems, CCTV, intercom access control systems.
  4. Full understanding of local and national codes, including OSHA and HAZCOM Regulations.
  5. Proficiency in interpreting and applying the national electronic code, state, and local construction codes.
  6. Strong communication and leadership skills, enabling effective collaboration and guidance for team members.
  7. Ability to determine and implement resolutions for complex field situations.
  8. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  9. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  10. Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a drug screening.
Certifications/Licenses:
  1. EST 3 or EST 4 Programmer Experience.
  2. NICET Level II Certification (fire alarm systems), preferred- not required.
  3. Relevant product certifications and licenses required by national, state, and local codes.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements:
  1. Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions, electrical hazards, and challenging work environments.
  2. Physical capabilities to perform tasks including standing, walking, sitting, climbing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in confined spaces.
  3. Ability to work with ladders, scaffolding, high lift equipment, wires, ducts, crawl spaces, attics, etc.
  4. Full-time availability with on-call flexibility and occasional travel on short notice.
  5. Proficiency in driving a motor vehicle for extended periods, including days and evenings.
