Job summary

Advocate Health is hiring a Registered Respiratory Therapist to join the Respiratory Therapy Services team at Navicent Health Medical Center. This full-time role supports nights (7p-7a) and a 36-hour work week with competitive compensation and benefits.

The successful candidate will administer therapies, monitor ventilators, document outcomes, and collaborate with the multidisciplinary team. Minimum qualifications include NBRC RRT, state licensure, and Associate's degree in respiratory therapy;

Qualifications

• NBRC-registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required
• Licensed Respiratory Therapist in the practicing state; BLS for Healthcare Providers
• Associate degree in respiratory therapy required; BA/BS preferred

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of oxygen delivery modes and related equipment; conducts prescribed therapies
• Administers therapeutic procedures; performs diagnostic procedures per policy
• Monitors and maintains mechanical and non-invasive ventilators; understands critical care duties
• Evaluates therapies independently and makes recommendations on plans of care and education
• Documents therapy and communicates results to the healthcare team
• Performs blood gas sampling and analysis and interprets results
• Works independently across patient care areas; proficient with the EMR system
• Follows safety guidelines and completes regulatory requirements and proficiency evaluations
