Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health's Westerly Hospital seeks a registered nurse to manage individualized, goal-directed nursing care using the nursing process and primary nursing principles under the nurse manager's direction.

The role emphasizes geriatric psychiatric care, collaboration with the care team, and adherence to hospital policies, with a focus on compassionate, patient-centered service for our aging population in Rhode Island.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RI license; BLS required.
• CPI training within 1 year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient's physical and psychological condition on an ongoing basis throughout the continuum of care; document and share data with the care team.
• Adhere to Westerly Hospital policies and procedures.
• Act as a clinical resource and role model for staff.
• Actively participate in training and educational activities for other staff members.
• Demonstrate a high level of respect, dignity, compassion and professionalism for all customers.
• Recognize and value contributions of fellow employees; promote cooperation and teamwork.
• Report to work on time, prepared, and follow hospital policies for attendance and time off requests.

Qualifications

EDUCATION

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.

EXPERIENCE

Previous Geriatric Psych exp pref; Previous hospital exp pref

LICENSURE

Current RI License BLS required CPI training within 1 yr of employment

SPECIAL SKILLS

Previous geriatric psychiatric experience preferred
