Job summary

Hotel San José in Austin, TX seeks a Night Auditor to deliver the same guest experience overnight as daytime desk agents. You will perform accounting and front-office tasks, generate flawless reports in the PMS, and complete a compliant night audit.

Require a high school diploma or GED with accounting exposure; six months in hospitality is preferred. Assist guests, balance banks, and follow brand standards to ensure smooth overnight operations.

Qualifications

• Six months related experience in hospitality or service with accounting exposure.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and operating procedures.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or guests.
• Ability to create documents in Excel and Word.
• Ability to understand other computer programs (Property Management System).
• Ability to apply math concepts including decimals and fractions.

Responsibilities

• Complete night audit, balance shift banks and verify cash, credit card and room charges.
• Generate accurate accounting reports within the Property Management Software.
• Check in and check out guests in a confident, professional manner.
• Follow brand standards and assist guests during their stay.
• Disseminate nightly audit packs to recipients.

The Opportunity

A Night Auditor will deliver the same guest experience during overnight hours as the Front Desk agents deliver during daytime hours. In addition, the Night Auditor will perform accounting and front office related tasks that require a great deal of attention to detail. This person must be able to generate flawless accounting reports within Property Management Software and complete a night audit in compliance with property standards.

Now a gathering place and hub of community activity for locals and visitors alike, our legacy began long before now, in the 1930s, when the San José was a vibrant motor court on South Congress Avenue. But as Austin changed, the motel fell into disrepair. Key Responsibilities

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED). College degree preferred
• Six (6) months related experience in the hospitality or service industry with accounting experience
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures manuals
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or guests
• Ability to create documents in Excel and Word
• Ability to understand other computer programs (i.e. Property Management System)
• Ability to apply concepts of math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and algebra using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals

Qualifications

• Complete all shift checklist and complete bucket check prior to performing the night audit
• Generate flawless accounting reports within Property Management Software
• Open, secure and balance out shift banks to include the verification of all cash, credit card and room charge transactions during all shifts
• Maintain accuracy with all accounting and billing procedures
• Ensure each guest is promptly recognized, greeted and assisted, during their stay
• Review, correct, print and disseminate the nightly audit packs to identified recipients
• Check in and out all hotel guests in a confident, professional and friendly manner
• Following brand standards, make hotel reservations accurately and efficiently
• Maintain knowledge of local restaurants, special events, city attractions, amenities and directions (which may have an impact on occupancy, rates, and availability)
