Seaside Staffing is seeking a warm, calm nanny/family assistant in West Lake Hills, Austin, TX to care for a lively three-year-old. The role includes school drop-offs/pickups, light housework, and planning engaging activities, with some travel and a Monday–Friday schedule of 30–40 hours per week.

The ideal candidate is proactive, nurturing, and comfortable around cats and pools, with CPR/First Aid certification and experience handling transitions and strong emotions.

Summary

A loving family is seeking a warm, gentle, and calm full time nanny/family assistant to care for their active three year old child while providing light household support. The nanny will assist with school/daycare drop offs and pickups, plan engaging activities, and support the child with social interactions and age appropriate development. The parents are involved in the child’s care, so the role will primarily involve working alongside Mom, with approximately one day per week spent at Dad’s home assisting with household tasks. Responsibilities will include children’s laundry, towels, dishes, grocery shopping, errands, light meal preparation, and preparing fruits and vegetables. The ideal candidate will be proactive, take initiative, and be comfortable working independently without needing extensive direction. The schedule is Monday through Friday, approximately 30 to 40 hours per week with some flexibility, and occasional travel may be requested.

Required Skills

The ideal candidate will have a warm, child development focused approach and experience supporting children through sensory sensitivities, transitions, big emotions, and challenging behaviors such as hitting. The family values a parenting approach influenced by Dr. Becky and play therapy, with an emphasis on gentle leadership, calm and consistent boundaries, redirection, offering choices, and helping children navigate strong emotions. Candidates should be active, nurturing, patient, and comfortable engaging a busy three year old. Strong organizational skills, initiative, and the ability to anticipate household needs are important, as is a willingness to assist with light family assistant duties. The candidate must be comfortable around cats, able to swim, and comfortable around pools.
