Job summary

Penn Medicine’s Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania is seeking a full-time MRI Technologist to perform MRI and MRA procedures while upholding patient safety and high-quality imaging standards. The role interfaces with radiologists and the UPHS team, requires BLS and ARRT certification, and includes a 10k sign-on bonus.

The schedule includes varied shifts and health benefits are offered. Candidates will operate MRI equipment, verify orders in Epic, and ensure patient comfort and safety

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• ARRT radiologic technologist certification required.

Responsibilities

• Perform MRI and MRA procedures and follow safety protocols.
• Greets patients, verifies identifications, and explains procedures.
• Obtain history, screen for surgeries, explain procedures, obtain consent for contrast, verify GFR.
• Place IV access and administer MRI contrast as directed.
• Operate MRI scanner, RF coils, workstations and MR injectors.
• Archive and verify MRI images to hard-copy as needed.
• Conduct quality assurance testing and monitor patient wellbeing.
• Support radiologists and UPHS team to complete procedures per protocol.
• Comply with OSHA, TJC, DOH and safety regulations.
• Maintain inventory and rotate stock for the workstation.
• Respond to emergencies per department policy.
• Foster good relationships within the facility and with external partners.
• Communicate equipment or image quality issues.
