Cox Automotive Inc. in Bordentown, NJ is seeking a vehicle mover/driver to safely move, stage, and park cars on the Auction grounds. You will drive vehicles to the mechanic and detail shop doors, following all safety rules and regulations.

The role requires lifting up to 15 pounds, standing and walking for long periods, and a willingness to work overtime if needed. Training and adherence to safety are essential in this team-focused environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles to/from designated areas on Auction premises while following safety and driving rules.
• Line up and park vehicles in correct order as directed by supervisor.
• Support with getting vehicles operating; inflate tires and jump-start as needed.
• Notify supervisor if a vehicle is inoperative or out of gas.
• Assist customers (dealers, account representatives, rental agencies) and coworkers.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in Safety Excellence activities.

Job Description

This position is responsible for safely moving, staging, and parking vehicles on the Auction. Property, driving vehicles to the mechanic shop and detail shop doors, following all safety rules and regulations.

Job Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles to and from designated areas on Auction premises, while observing Auction driving rules, and rules of the road and demonstrating courtesy and defensive driving principles.
• Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by the supervisor or team leader, move vehicles as necessary, and locate "lost" vehicles.
• Assist with getting vehicles operating as needed. Inflate tires and jump-start vehicles using a battery box and air tank if necessary. Notify the supervisor when a vehicle is inoperative; notify the Service or Gas Truck Driver when the vehicle is out of gas.
• Assist customers (i.e., dealers, account representatives, rental agencies, etc.) and coworkers as needed.
• Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such.
• Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.

Qualifications

• Safe drivers needed; valid driver's license required
• Constantly required to enter and exit vehicles.
• Ability to sit for prolonged periods.
• Ability to walk long distances.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear.
• Stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, squatting, and climbing are frequently required.
• Ability to lift 1-15 pounds.
• Vision abilities required include close, distance, and color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Preferred

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous auction experience preferred.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission

Work Environment

Frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Moderate noise level.

Compensation

Hourly pay rate is $16.80. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits

• Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
