Job summary

Cox Automotive Inc. in Manheim, PA is seeking a responsible Yard Worker to safely move, stage and park vehicles on Auction property. You will drive vehicles to and from auction lots and customer businesses, and transport them through sale lanes on designated days.

The role requires a valid driver's license, the ability to sit, stand, walk, and lift up to 15 pounds. Typical schedule is Monday–Friday 7:30am–4pm, with potential overtime; pay is hourly at $15.27, with benefits including paid time

Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles through Auction lanes on sale day in a safe manner.
• Drive vehicles to and from designated areas on Auction premises and to and from customer dealerships and businesses, observing driving rules and safety.
• Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by supervisor or team leader; move vehicles as needed and locate lost vehicles.
• Assist with getting vehicles operating; inflate tires and jumper start if needed; notify supervisor if vehicle is inoperative or out of gas.
• Assist customers and coworkers as needed.
• Follow safety procedures and participate in Safety Excellence activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.

This position is responsible for the safe moving, staging and parking of vehicles on Auction property, driving vehicles to and from Auction lots and customer businesses, and driving vehicles through Auction sale lanes on designated sale days and in compliance with Auction safety rules and regulations.

Pay Rate

Pay Rate: $15.27 per hr.

Job Responsibilities

• Drive vehicles through Auction lanes on sale day in a safe manner.
• Drive vehicles to and from designated areas on Auction premises and to and from customer dealerships and businesses, while observing Auction driving rules, rules of the road and demonstrating courtesy and defensive driving principles.
• Line up and park vehicles in the correct order as directed by supervisor or team leader, move vehicles as necessary, and locate "lost" vehicles.
• Assist with getting vehicles operating as needed. If necessary, inflate tires and jump start vehicles using a battery box and air tank. Notify supervisor when a vehicle is inoperative; notify Service or Gas Truck Driver when vehicle is out of gas.
• Assist customers (i.e., dealers, account representatives, rental agencies, etc.) and coworkers as needed.
• Visibly demonstrate safety commitment by following all safety and health procedures and modeling the behaviors related to such. Actively participate in support of all safety activities aligned with Safety Excellence.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• May be required to work overtime as business needs dictate.

Preferred

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
• Previous auction experience.

Work Environment

USD 15.27 per hour

Compensation

Hourly pay rate is $15.27. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program.

Benefits

Employees are eligible to receive a minimum of sixteen hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Employees are also eligible for additional paid time off in the form of bereavement leave, time off to vote, jury duty leave, volunteer time off, military leave, and parental leave.
