The Department of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry at the University of Kentucky is seeking a full-time laboratory technician to join the laboratory of Dr. Weikang Cai in Lexington, KY.

The role involves standard molecular biology tasks and general lab duties in a mouse model research setting. Responsibilities include preparing solutions, PCR, gel electrophoresis, western blotting, immunostaining, cryostat sectioning, genotyping, injections, tissue collection, and inventory management.

Qualifications

• AA required.
• Bachelor’s degree and some lab experience (part-time acceptable).

Responsabilités

• Prepare solutions and perform PCR, DNA and protein gel electrophoresis, and western blotting.
• Conduct immunostaining, cryostat sectioning, and related lab tasks.
• Assist with genotyping, injections, tissue collection, and ongoing projects.
• Organize laboratory inventories and maintain routine lab supplies.
