Job summary

The University of Kentucky's Department of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry seeks a full-time Laboratory Technician to join Dr. Weikang Cai's lab in Lexington, KY.

Responsibilities include preparing solutions, performing PCR, DNA and protein gel electrophoresis, and western blotting, and assisting with immunostaining and cryostat work. Ideal candidates hold an AA or equivalent and have some lab experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• AA required for the position.
• Bachelor’s degree plus some lab experience preferred.
• No experience required.

Responsibilities

• Perform PCR, DNA and protein gel electrophoresis, and western blotting.
• Conduct immunostaining, cryostat sectioning, and related assays.
• Assist with genotyping, injections, tissue collection and other essential tasks.
• Help organize laboratory inventories and maintain routine lab supplies.
