Job summary

Crete Public Schools is seeking a qualified candidate for a full-time substitute teacher position at Crete Middle School, serving grades 6–8. The substitute will ensure quality instruction in the absence of the regular teacher, reporting to the Building Principal and working at Crete Middle School.

Qualifications

• Valid State Substitute Certificate or capability to obtain certification.
• Satisfactory completion of criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Enforce rules for behavior and procedures for maintaining order among the students for whom you are responsible.
• Communicate clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects to students.
• Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs and interests.
• Instruct through lectures, discussions, and demonstrations in one or more subjects such as English, mathematics, or social studies.
• Conduct activities that provide students with opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
• Assign lessons and correct homework.
• Maintain confidentiality of information concerning staff, students, and parents in accordance with law and District rules.
