Job summary

Health Care Alliance North America is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the Asheville Detox Center medical team. The provider will assess, treat, and coordinate care for individuals with substance use disorders, ensuring adherence to policies and MAT protocols.

The role involves collaboration with therapists and medical staff, prescribing appropriate medications, and delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a detox setting.

Qualifications

• Valid Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.
• Experience in addiction medicine, psychiatry, or related healthcare field preferred.
• Knowledge of medication-assisted treatment (MAT) and addiction treatment modalities.
• DEA registration and X‑Waiver.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments including medical history, physical exams, and mental health evaluations.
• Collaborate with treatment team to develop individualized care plans with MAT.
• Prescribe and manage medications for addiction and other conditions, monitor effects.
• Provide patient education on addiction, health maintenance, and disease prevention.
• Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA and regulations.
• Participate in ongoing education, staff meetings, and case reviews.

Health Care Alliance North America (HCANA) started with Oasis Recovery Center in Asheville, NC. Our founders wanted to create an addiction treatment center that treated clients as individuals, casting aside the impersonal and apathetic approaches used by other providers, including the recovery centers they attended themselves. Position Overview: We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our medical team. As the Medical Provider, you will assess and evaluate the delivery of psychiatric and physical care to clients in the program, ensuring that the services provided are in accordance with company policies and procedures, standard operating procedures, philosophy, objectives, and mission statement. This role is integral in delivering comprehensive medical care to our patients, focusing on substance abuse disorders, detoxification processes, and co-occurring mental health conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct detailed patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and mental health evaluations.
• Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized care plans, emphasizing evidence‑based interventions and medication-assisted treatment (MAT).
• Prescribe and manage medications for addiction and other health conditions, monitoring efficacy and side effects.
• Provide ongoing patient education and counseling on substance abuse, health maintenance, and disease prevention.
• Work closely with therapists, counselors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
• Maintain up‑to‑date patient records, ensuring compliance with healthcare laws and regulations, including confidentiality and HIPAA.
• Participate in continuous education, staff meetings, and case reviews to stay informed about the latest trends and best practices in addiction medicine.
• Handle medical emergencies and provide appropriate care as needed.

• Full‑Time
• 40 hours per week, may vary based on client & facility need
• Weekend Availability

• Two Locations, Asheville Detox Center and Oasis Recovery Center
• Medically‑Assisted Detox Facility
