Job summary

Brookside Rehab & Nursing Center in Warrenton, VA is hiring a Full-Time Maintenance Assistant/Apprentice focused on floor care and painting to keep our facility safe and welcoming for residents, visitors, and staff.

You will strip, wax, buff floors, paint resident areas, prep surfaces, and help with general maintenance projects while following safety policies. Reliable attendance and ability to work independently or with a team are valued.

Qualifications

• Floor care or painting experience preferred.
• Experience operating floor machines is a plus.
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move equipment and supplies.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.

Responsibilities

• Perform floor care duties including stripping, waxing, buffing, and polishing floors.
• Operate floor care equipment safely and effectively.
• Paint resident rooms, hallways, common areas, and other facility spaces.
• Prepare surfaces for painting, including patching, sanding, and cleaning.
• Complete touch-up painting and cosmetic repairs as needed.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Assist with general facility maintenance projects as assigned.
• Follow all safety, infection control, and facility policies.
• Help ensure the facility maintains a welcoming appearance for residents and visitors.
