Job summary

Highgate Hotels seeks a hands-on Maintenance Technician to assist with operation, maintenance and repair of hotel equipment at Courtyard Folsom. You will perform preventative maintenance on guest rooms, kitchens, HVAC, and laundry equipment, respond to alarms, and support other maintenance tasks as directed by the supervisor.

The ideal candidate has hotel maintenance experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, etc.).
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist with operation, maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms (paint, minor repairs).
• Preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry, HVAC, guestrooms, meeting rooms and fitness center.
• Perform plumbing and laundry equipment repairs; monitor energy usage; repair vacuums and small equipment on request.
• Respond to alarms, determine status, report findings to Front Desk.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the operation maintenance and repair of equipment.
• Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms to include: vinyl repair touch up paint minor furniture repair tub caulking tile repairs etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipmen,t HVAC guestrooms, meeting rooms and fitness center.
• Perform plumbing repair laundry equipment repair preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request.
• Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause - determine emergency status and report to the Front Desk with findings.
• Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.

Qualifications

• Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing electrical HVAC carpentry etc.).
• Must have a valid driver’s license for the applicable state.
• Must have an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Driving Record) property specific.

For Employees Based in Colorado:

• 8 paid holidays per year; employees working in the City of Denver receive 64 hours of designated holiday time per calendar year
• Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service
• 6 days or 48 hours of Paid Sick Leave per year, accrued at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked.

For Employees Based in California:

• 8 paid holidays per year
• Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service, capped at 1.5x annual accrual rate; non-supervisory employees working in the City of Los Angeles accrue up to 22 days of Compensated Time Off, based on length of service capped at 192 hours of combined PST and CTO.
• Paid Sick Time accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, unused time is carried over from one anniversary year to the next up to a maximum of 80 hours; employees working in the City of Los Angeles are provided 40 hours of Paid Sick Time annually on their anniversary, unused time is not carried over from one anniversary year to the next.
