Job summary

Highgate Hotels is seeking a Maintenance Engineer for Residence Inn Ontario in Ontario, CA. The role supports operation maintenance and repair of hotel equipment on a full-time, hourly basis.

The position requires a High School diploma, trade licensing if applicable, and a valid driver’s license. Compensation ranges from $25.00 to $28.00 per hour with benefits and opportunities to advance within a growing hospitality portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Licensed in a trade (plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry) preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license for the applicable state.
  • Must have an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Driving Record).

Responsibilities

  • Assist with operation maintenance and repair of equipment.
  • Perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms and areas including lighting and basic repairs.
  • Perform maintenance on ice machines, refrigerators, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, HVAC, pool, and facilities.
  • Repair plumbing, laundry equipment, and exhaust fans; monitor energy use and report issues.
  • Respond to alarms; assess emergency status and inform Front Desk with findings.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Responsibilities


  • Assist with the operation maintenance and repair of equipment.

  • Change out light bulbs; perform preventative maintenance for guest rooms to include: vinyl repair touch up paint minor furniture repair tub caulking tile repairs etc.

  • Perform preventative maintenance for ice machines refrigerators kitchen equipment laundry equipment HVAC guestrooms meeting rooms the swimming pool and hot tub.

  • Perform plumbing repair laundry equipment repair preventative maintenance on all exhaust fans and supply; monitor energy conservation; repair vacuum cleaners and any other small equipment upon request.

  • Immediately follow up on any alarms to determine the exact location and cause - determine emergency status and report to the Front Desk with findings.

  • Perform other tasks/jobs as assigned by the supervisor or manager.


Qualifications


  • Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.

  • Licensed in a trade preferred (plumbing electrical HVAC carpentry etc.).

  • Must have a valid driver's license for the applicable state.

  • Must have an acceptable MVR (Motor Vehicle Driving Record) property specific.

  • 8 paid holidays per year

  • Up to 20 days of paid vacation per year, based on classification and length of service, capped at 1.5x annual accrual rate; non-supervisory employees working in the City of Los Angeles accrue up to 22 days of Compensated Time Off, based on length of service capped at 192 hours of combined PST and CTO.

  • Paid Sick Time accrues at 1 hour for every 30 hours worked, unused time is carried over from one anniversary year to the next up to a maximum of 80 hours; employees working in the City of Los Angeles are provided 40 hours of Paid Sick Time annually on their anniversary, unused time is not carried over from one anniversary year to the next.
