  • Clearance with all relevant background checks and a valid NY State Driver’s License.

Job description

RISE Housing and Support Services is looking for an experienced, handy, empathetic individual to support our property management department. A successful candidate will have experience responding to resident needs in apartment settings and comfort with individuals working through mental health and substance use challenges.

RISE offers a Maintenance Assistant:

  • A starting rate of $21.64 – $24.04 based on experience

  • $1,500 bonus after 6 months of employment

Overview of Job Responsibilities:

  • Respond to immediate maintenance needs
  • Collaborate with outside contracted services
  • Perform basic maintenance on household structures and components
  • Assemble materials and tools for projects
  • Perform some lawn care, minor landscaping, and snow removal
  • Monitor physical property safety and report discrepancies immediately to the Property Manager
  • Help with additional related tasks such as interior painting and moving equipment
  • 1+ years of related on the job experience responding to general maintenance tasks
  • Basic konwlwedge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and other related areas a plus
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and work with long periods of standing
  • Clearance with all relevant background checks as per RISE policies and governing regulations
  • A valid NY State Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to the RISE automotive program
