Job summary

Mental Health Resource Center, Inc. is seeking Registered Nurses to oversee compassionate care at its Northside and Southside inpatient psychiatric facilities in Florida.

Responsibilities include admissions, orders, medication administration, and both routine and emergency care while collaborating with the treatment team in a fast-paced unit that serves adults and children under crisis stabilization services.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid State of Florida Registered Nurse license.
• Requires an Associate's or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Experience in medical-surgical and/or psychiatric nursing is required.
• Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Accurate documentation and timely charting per guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Handle admissions and discharges, interpret doctor's orders, and administer medications.
• Provide routine and emergency medical care and interventions as needed.
• Assess patient needs, plan care with the treatment team, and monitor progress.
• Supervise and coordinate care with Behavioral Healthcare Assistants.
• Ensure compliance with QA standards and Joint Commission requirements.

Job Summary

Mental Health Resource Center is looking for Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide and oversee quality and compassionate care for patients at our Northside and Southside inpatient psychiatric facilities.

The crisis stabilization units provide services for adults and children. Most patients are admitted involuntarily to the facility via the Baker Act, the mental health act of Florida. The normal length of stay on the unit for patients is typically 3-5 days. Due to the types of services provided, crisis stabilization units are fast-paced working environments and present employees with challenging and rewarding opportunities. Employees work together and support one another in a friendly, team-oriented atmosphere.

The duties of Registered Nurses include admissions, discharges, taking doctor's orders, administering medication, and providing routine and emergency medical care and interventions as needed.

Registered Nurses also assess the needs and problems of patients, plan the patient’s care in cooperation with the treatment team, monitor and observe patients, and oversee the care provided by the Behavioral Healthcare Assistants.

Registered Nurses ensure services are provided in accordance with the Quality Assurance Standards for Behavioral Health Services and Joint Commission standards.

MHRC provides a variety of training, including but not limited to Crisis Intervention, CPR, Diagnosis and Behaviors, Ethics, and Confidentiality. MHRC is an approved Continuing Education provider with the Department of Health in Florida and many in-house trainings provide free CEUs for employees.

Qualifications

• In order to be considered candidates must have a valid State of Florida Registered Nurse license and either an Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Experience in medical-surgical and/or psychiatric nursing is required.
• Registered Nurses need to make sound decisions independently and demonstrate good judgment on a daily basis, including but not limited to recognizing emergencies and life threatening situations and responding appropriately.
• Excellent communication skills are essential and this individual must be able to interact appropriately with internal and external customers, including families, caregivers, community service providers, supervisory staff and other department professionals.
• Each employee contributes to the completeness and confidentiality of clinical records by ensuring documentation, paperwork and system entries meet internal and external guidelines for content, accuracy and timeliness.

Charge Registered Nurse: Monday through Friday, 7:00am-3:30pm/ MHRC North/ Adult Unit
