Qualifications

Full Time LVN – Wound Care Nurse – San Antonio, Texas

Summary of Role:

R3 LVNs play a vital role in assuring our Advanced Healing Center’s quality, safety, service, and access by providing flexibility within our patient care teams as multi-function cross-trained healthcare professionals, ensuring continuity of care for every patient. The comprehensive role focuses on three areas within a clinic – Patient Care Coordination, Wound Care Nursing support, and delivery of Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy.

Job Responsibilities:
  1. Duties and Responsibilities Wound Care Nursing Support:
  2. Assist the clinic Provider with wound care patients
  3. Obtain chief complaint, review of systems, medical, social, surgical, and family histories
  4. Perform vitals, documentation in EMR, assist with clinical orders and procedures
  5. Track and order medical/office supplies
  6. Responsible for knowing emergency protocols and locations of protocols
  7. Maintain accurate records regarding allergies, medications, medical, surgical, social, and family histories. Obtaining medical records from physician offices, imaging, testing, and other ancillary services
Hyperbarics:
  1. Delivery of Hyperbaric Medicine to patients
  2. Perform pre-dive vitals on all patients
  3. Perform Blood Glucose testing pre and post hyperbaric oxygen treatment
  4. Ensure all hyperbaric chambers are in working order
  5. Perform necessary maintenance to systems daily
  6. Responsible for knowing emergency protocols and location of protocols
  7. Maintain up-to-date knowledge on all applicable hyperbaric safety codes
  8. Maintain accurate records regarding medical history, hyperbaric treatment, and results of each patient session
Patient Care Coordination:
  1. Responsible for greeting patients and visitors, answering phones, and scheduling appointments in a professional and timely manner
  2. Process all referrals faxed, in-house referrals, and live calls from providers and patients in a timely manner. Obtain patient PCP referrals when necessary.
  3. Ensure complete and accurate patient registration, including patient demographic and current insurance information.
  4. Contact insurance companies to ensure verifications of benefits and prior authorizations approval requirements are met.
  5. Place outbound calls to patients to schedule appointments.
  6. Coordinating referrals and providing “white glove” service to referral partners and patients
Qualifications:
  1. Must be a licensed LVN by Texas Board of Nursing
  2. Wound care experience highly preferred
  3. Must have and maintain a positive attitude and outlook
  4. BLS certification preferred; Willingness to obtain certification within 45 days is required.
  5. Must be able to work in a truly cohesive team environment
  6. Maintains an elevated level of customer service and compassion with all patients
  7. Must have a valid Texas driver’s license
