Job summary

Fountain City Family Physicians, a division of Summit Medical Group, seeks an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our Knoxville-area practice. This is a full-time position with day hours and standard patient-care responsibilities in a busy clinic.

The ideal candidate holds a Tennessee LPN license, has basic clinical skills including phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, IV therapy, and patient education, and can support physicians with procedures and clerical tasks in a collaborative team

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Additional vocational or college credits required.

Responsibilities

• Performs procedures such as phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, holter monitors, and, if certified, X-rays.
• Performs intravenous (IV) therapy, if needed.
• Escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares the patient for examination or procedure.
• Assists physician with procedures and administers medication and patient education.
• Receives and returns calls regarding patient needs with sound clinical judgment.
• Maintains stocked, neat exam rooms and common work areas daily.
• Follows policies including OSHA guidelines.
• Performs clerical duties for physician visits and tests, and communicates results.
• Schedules office and outpatient appointments efficiently.
• Pulls and prepares patient records for treatment.
• Maintains professional conduct and confidentiality.
• Participates in site-level Quality Improvement activities.
• Maintains updated LPN credentials.
