Full-Time Long Weekend Nurse 36 hours (Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays from 9 am to 9 pm)
Recently named by The Boston Globe as one of the Top Places to Work in Massachusetts, our community-based, mission-driven hospice and palliative care organization seeks a Weekend Nurse to join its expanding On-Call team. Travel to provide care in patients' private homes and residential facilities throughout Greater Boston and parts of Metrowest. The ideal candidate is well-organized and enthusiastic about working in a fast-paced environment. This position is eligible for a $5000 sign-on Bonus.
Job Description:
The Weekend Nurse is an integral part of an interdisciplinary hospice team responsible for caring for patients at the end of life. Makes home and hospital visits, provides information sessions, evaluates new patients, facilitates admissions to hospice services, and coordinates care planning. Employs triage and assessment skills to titrate medications and manage symptoms appropriately and provides education to patients and families about terminal diseases and end-of-life processes. Communicates with an interdisciplinary hospice team about changes in patients' needs, and outcomes of interventions. The position includes weekend hours and at least one weekday -Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, from 9 am to 9 pm (36 hours/week).
