Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our full-time team. This vital role involves supporting veterinarians in delivering comprehensive animal care, utilizing technical expertise across a range of veterinary procedures. The successful candidate will demonstrate proficiency in animal handling, laboratory work, anesthesia, and client communication, contributing to our mission of exceptional pet healthcare.

Duties

• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment.
• Perform laboratory tests including blood work, urinalysis, and cytology to aid in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments following veterinary protocols while monitoring patient responses.
• Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques for examinations, procedures, and diagnostic imaging such as radiology or X-ray.
• Manage anesthesia administration and monitoring during surgical procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Maintain detailed medical records using veterinary software systems with accuracy and confidentiality.

Experience

• Proven experience as a Veterinary Technician with knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and surgical assistance.
• Hands-on experience with kennel management, pet grooming, dog training, and animal husbandry practices.
• Familiarity with diagnostic radiology techniques including X-ray operation and radiology diagnostics.
• Skilled in anesthesia monitoring, IV catheterization, phlebotomy, and aseptic techniques for surgical procedures.
• Experience working in veterinary critical care or emergency medicine environments is highly desirable.
• Competence in operating medical equipment such as laboratory analyzers and radiology machines while adhering to safety standards.
• Strong communication skills for effective client education regarding pet care and treatment plans.
