Job summary

The Madison Metropolitan School District is seeking a dedicated Building Services Custodian Lead for Sandburg Elementary. The role focuses on cleaning, maintenance, and leading custodial staff to meet district standards.

The position supports a safe, clean learning environment with daily activities from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday. Starting compensation is $32.20 per hour on the 26-27 Salary Schedule, with non-exempt status and a strong emphasis on training and leadership.

Qualifications

• Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and reliable means of transportation.
• Experience working cross-culturally and/or commitment to cultural competence.
• Successful experience training, coaching, and providing input to staff evaluations.
• Ability to read, follow directions, and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prioritize custodial work based on daily activities and district standards.
• Provide coaching and training to custodial staff as needed.
• Perform outdoor duties including trash pickup, landscaping, snow removal, and related tasks.
• Maintain equipment, replace parts, and complete minor repairs.
• Review, enter, and sign off tasks in EAM and coordinate with staff.
