Job summary

Madison District Public Schools is seeking a dedicated full-time Custodian at Madison Elementary School and Madison Early Childhood Center. The role supports a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and staff, with a 52-week schedule from 2:00pm to 10:30pm.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, strong attention to detail, good communication, and the ability to work independently. Prior custodial experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required or preferred.
• Knowledge of cleaning supplies, equipment and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine cleaning: sweep, mop, vacuum, sanitize classrooms and restrooms.
• Empty trash/recycling and restock supplies as needed.
• Assist with minor maintenance and report facility issues.
• Set up/break down spaces for events and activities.
• Follow safety and security procedures to keep school environment safe.
