Job summary

Bethesda Senior Living Communities is seeking a Laundry Attendant for a full-time position at 364 Bethesda Gardens Phoenix, AZ. You will provide laundry services for residents and uphold confidentiality while maintaining quality care in a nurturing environment.

The role requires high school education and basic laundry experience, with opportunities to engage in a comprehensive benefits package and ongoing training within a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Picks up laundry from residents' rooms and sorts by resident.
• Sorts, washes, dries, folds, and hangs laundry per procedures.
• Iron as required per procedures.
• Return clean laundry to residents' rooms.
• Maintain confidentiality of residents' information.
• Uphold professional appearance and nurturing environment.
• Maintain positive customer service and honesty.
• Attend scheduled trainings and in-services.
• Coordinate meal service coverage with Culinary Services Director/Host.
• Assist with cleaning and dining room prep between meals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

• Picks up laundry from residents rooms ensuring all items are identifiable and sorted according to the proper resident.
• Sorts, washes, dries, folds and hangs laundry according to community's procedures.
• Irons as required, according to community's procedures.
• Returns clean laundry to proper residents room.
• Maintains confidentiality of residents personal information in and out of the community and protects and supports residents rights.
• Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor that encourages a positive nurturing environment for the residents, families, vendors, and guests.
• Maintains a positive customer service environment and practices honesty and integrity in all aspects of performance.
• Attends all scheduled in-services and training sessions.
• Ensures adequate daily coverage for meal service by communicating with the Culinary Services Director and/or Host/Hostess, to include taking resident orders for meals, providing drink refills according to residents’ / guests’ requests, assists with the cleaning, resetting and preparation of the dining room in-between mealtimes.
• Performs all other duties as assigned or required.

• Must be able to work independently and prioritize workload as emergencies arise.

Education/Experience

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Basic laundry experience needed.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements

Light physical effort required to handle object up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently. Must be able to bend, stoop, and handle bulky objects.
