Job summary

Bethesda Senior Living Communities in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a dedicated Laundry Attendant to provide laundry services for residents in a full-time role.

The position requires sorting, washing, drying, and ironing with attention to detail and confidentiality, supporting a clean, comfortable living environment for residents and their families. Training is provided, with benefits and growth opportunities available.

• Experience with residential laundry is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Picks up laundry from residents' rooms and sorts.

Essential Functions

• Picks up laundry from residents rooms ensuringall items are identifiable and sorted according to the proper resident.
• Sorts, washes, dries, folds and hangs laundry according to community'sprocedures.
• Irons as required, according to community'sprocedures.
• Returns clean laundry to proper residents room.
• Maintains confidentiality of residents personal information in and out of the community and protects and supports residents rights.
• Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor that encourages a positive nurturing environment for the residents, families, vendors, and guests.
• Maintains a positive customer service environment and practices honesty and integrity in all aspects of performance.
• Attends all scheduled in-services and training sessions.
• Ensures adequate daily coverage for meal service by communicating with the Culinary Services Director and/or Host/Hostess, to include taking resident orders for meals, providing drink refills according to residents’ / guests’ requests, assists with the cleaning, resetting and preparation of the dining room in-between mealtimes.
• Performs all other duties as assigned or required.

QualificationsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of washing, sorting, and ironing techniques.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate with residents and staff.
• Must show compassion and genuinely care for the elderly.
• Must be knowledgeable of the location of the MSDS sheets on hazardous materials and able to understand the guidelines.
• Must be able to work independently and prioritize workload as emergencies arise.
• Demonstrates a SERVANT heart and attitude by following our mission statement.

Education/Experience: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Basic laundry experience needed.

Working Environment/Physical Requirements: Light physical effort required to handle object up to 20 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently. Must be able to bend, stoop, and handle bulky objects.
