Overview

The City of Cuyahoga Falls is seeking a hardworking and dependable Sanitation Worker to help maintain a clean and safe community. This position involves collecting and transporting solid waste, recyclables, and yard waste, operating various sanitation vehicles, and ensuring proper disposal at designated locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect waste and recyclableson assigned routes and return containers to their proper locations.
• Operate sanitation vehicles and equipment, including power lifts and compressors.
• Ensure safetyby observing surroundings and regulating traffic when necessary.
• Maintain communicationvia radio or phone to report updates or route changes.
• Adhere to job safety requirementsand sanitation standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to perform heavy manual labor and lift up to 50 pounds frequently, 100 pounds occasionally.
• Class A CDL with tanker endorsement (or willingness to obtain within six months through the City's training program).
• Must be a non-smoker and non-tobacco user during employment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Work Environment

• Outdoor work in various weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and snow.
• Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and loud noise.
• Occasional exposure to airborne particles, chemicals, and electrical risks.
