Job summary

Columbus Torah Academy on the east side of Columbus is seeking a full-time Kindergarten/First Grade Teacher Assistant/Support Staff for the 2026-27 academic year. The independent K-12 Jewish day school serves about 140 students in the lower school and emphasizes small class sizes and hands-on learning.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor of Arts, may have a TA license, and 2–5 years' experience with K-5 students; a substitute license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Arts degree required.
• Preferred Teacher Assistant license.
• Preferred Teacher Substitute license or ability to obtain that license.
• 2-5 years experience working with children in Kindergarten-5th grade.
• Open mind and growth mindset.

Responsibilities

• Support high quality instruction in classroom
• Support with overall classroom management
• Support small group instruction in multiple subjects
• Collect academic/behavioral data for classroom teacher
• Work collaboratively with the lead teachers
• Help to support hands on learning activities to students with high levels of student engagement
• Supervise lunch and recess duties
• Support arrival and departure of students
• At times, substitute for a teacher that is absent
