Job summary

Maimonides School in Brookline, MA is seeking a full-time Elementary School Assistant Teacher to support students in grades K-5 for the 2026–27 year. The role includes implementing lesson plans, providing individual and small-group assistance, and helping with recess coverage and events.

The school emphasizes a dual Judaic/general studies curriculum and a collaborative community. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s in Education and relevant classroom experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
• Minimum 1 year teaching experience, preferably at the Elementary School or Pre-K level.
• Demonstrated experience teaching or working with school-aged children.
• Versatility to teach across a wide range of subject areas.

Responsibilities

• Follow and deliver structured lesson plans to students in General Studies, and possibly Judaic Studies, across grades K-5.
• Provide individualized and small group support to students in the classroom.
• Provide coverage for expected and unexpected faculty absences.
• Assist with ongoing classroom and behavior management.
• Supervise students during lunch and recess periods.
• Identify and address the various learning styles of individual students.
• Knowledge of basic Hebrew and Jewish curriculum is preferred, but not required.
