Job summary

HomeRise is seeking a Janitor to maintain cleanliness across our properties, primarily at the San Francisco location. The role reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and participates in a structured cleaning program with a 40-hour weekly schedule.

The position offers full-time, non-exempt status with a pay rate of $26.26 per hour, and belongs to a union under SEIU 1021. Benefits include health coverage, FSA, retirement plan, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in janitorial work or janitorial training program preferred.
• Outlook and Microsoft Office knowledge required.
• Ability to work independently and with professionalism toward staff, residents and visitors.
• Adherence to ongoing cleaning programs and task follow-through.
• Interest in social justice advocacy.
• Valid phone number required.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and instructions from Site Manager or Maintenance Supervisor.
• Report safety concerns or facility issues via work order.
• Perform janitorial duties as assigned by Site Manager.
• Trash and recycling management as directed by leadership.
• Empty common-area trash, clear chutes, and maintain cleanliness of all spaces.
• Move furniture between sites and assist with site maintenance as needed.
