Atlanta Technical College (ATC) - Full-Time Instructor (Electrical Line Worker)

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Full-Time Instructor (Electrical Line Worker) position in the Academic and Student Affairs division, Industrial and Transportation Technology department. This position is located on Atlanta Technical College’s main campus, just south of Downtown Atlanta.

Under the general supervision of the Dean of Industrial & Transportation Technology, the instructor must select and assess student learning outcomes, foster effective learning in classroom and lab settings, and promote good public relations through contacts and communication with business, industry, and the public sector.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  1. Assist with curriculum development, review of program and syllabi, and setting goals and objectives according to approved standards.
  2. Evaluate and review students’ progress towards goals and objectives.
  3. Advise and counsel students, maintaining appropriate records.
  4. Demonstrate and ensure the use of effective teaching techniques, testing, grading procedures, and proper record-keeping.
  5. Display excellent oral and written communication skills.
  6. Maintain and review classrooms and laboratories in accordance with management plans.
  7. Maintain and review program certification requirements as applicable.
  8. Prepare and maintain documentation and administrative reports.
  9. Ensure safety and security in the training area.
  10. Assist with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.
  11. Stay current with practices in the teaching field and related areas.
  12. Follow and enforce institutional policies and regulations.
  13. Be willing to receive training and professional development, especially related to clean energy topics like EV Charger Station maintenance.
  14. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License.
  2. Extensive work experience as an electrical line worker in overhead and underground distribution construction and maintenance.
  3. Ability to instruct students and handle administrative responsibilities.
  4. Energetic, highly motivated, self-directed, open to new ideas, and customer-focused.
  5. Strong communication, organization, and planning skills.
  6. Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Note: May be required to teach at various locations within the community.
