Jordan School District in Utah is seeking an Instructional Assistant Special I FT to provide hands-on support to students and reinforce positive behavior under teachers and administration. The role includes bus supervision before and after school and requires completing mandated training within set timelines.

The position aligns with the district’s salary schedules, with lane advancement based on training completion, starting at Lane 5 Step 1 at $22.41 per hour.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of Basic Training (5 hours) provided by JSD Special Education Department. Training must be completed within one week of hire as a condition of employment.
• Additional 40 hours of training is available through the Special Education department allowing the employee to increase to lane 6 upon completion.
• Training must be completed within six (6) months from hire date as a condition of employment.
• Instructional assistants ride the school bus on a rotating schedule with students before and after school to provide supervision and additional behavioral support.
