Job description

Private Scarsdale Residence seeks an experienced friendly yet professional Housekeeper to assist with the daily care and cleaning of their semiformal household. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• All aspects of general housekeeping and deep cleaning of residence; museum quality cleaning including care for fine furniture, art, antiques, etc.
• Polishing of and care for all silver, brass, china, etc.
• Laundry and ironing of clothing and linens; packing and unpacking for frequent travel
• Care of fine garments; laundry, ironing, steam press
• Management and organization of closets, pantries, etc.
• Greeting guests and answering phone calls
• Food shopping and procurement of supplies, etc.
• Simple cooking for principals
• Communicating and working with additional staff
• Running errands as needed by principal
• Assist with dinner parties when needed
• Keeping track and purchasing household needs

This is a full time, live-out position. The typical work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 (hour lunch) – might need to be flexible – some days earlier. Salary is generous but DOE.

Requirements

• Excellent references required from current and previous employers
• Minimum of 3-5 years related work experience in Private Homes or Estates as a Housekeeper
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent English and communication skills; verbal and non-verbal
• Hands on with a good attitude, high energy, and strong work ethic
• Strong attention to details
• Must have a valid driver’s license with clean record
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
• Flexible to travel with principals as needed
• Legally able to work in the United States
